Love Valley

An area of natural wonders, Love Valley is one of the best places in the region of Cappadocia. Famous for its phallic-shaped rock formations, the valley also features earth pillars, cave dwellings, and much more. The valley offers an intriguing and challenging hike. It is also known as “Baglidere Valley”.

The unique rock formation might appear unnatural, but that’s not the case. They are natural and are formed by wind erosion and a large amount of ash deposited by volcanic eruptions. The stones are everywhere in the valley and they are huge, some stand at a height of 50m.

When you start hiking, you have two options, enjoy the amazing view from above or go to the base of these huge structures. Although you need hiking shoes and the hike might appear difficult, it’s safe and relatively easy. When you hike through the valley you can experience the real magic of Cappadocia.

Located in the heard of Cappadocia, these natural wonders sit at more than a thousand meters altitude. This area has hot, dry summers and bitterly cold winters, with little or no rain.

The valley is located in the town of Goreme, Nevsehir. If you travel from Goreme in a car, it will take around 10 minutes to reach the valley. If you travel from Uchisar, you can get to the valley in 15 minutes.

To reach the valley, book an airplane ticket from Istanbul airport to Kayseri or Nevsehir Airport. When you land at these airports, you can rent a car or use the bus or taxi service to reach Goreme. If you want to take a bus, land at Nevsehir Airport, as the local bus terminal is close to it.

When you arrive at your destination, you can walk through the stones. You can hike to Uchisar as well by following a unique trail with unique formations along the way. If you don’t want to visit the valley by yourself and need a guide, there are multiple tours available. If you choose the tour option, you will be able to visit other valleys as well.
